3 Recipes Your Doctor Recommends For Prostate Health

What you choose to eat matters to your health. Every system in your body requires certain nutrients for proper support, and a nutrient-rich diet is the best way to ensure your body gets what it needs. The prostate continues to grow with age, so proactive care involving proper nutrition is essential to promote healthy prostate growth and function.

Getting these nutrients is easy and can be delicious too. Here are a few recipes that deliver prostate-supporting nutrients and happy taste buds in every bite.

Something Light

Pomegranate contains powerful polyphenols that help support prostate health by promoting healthy cell growth, size, and function. In addition to this, the beta-carotene found in sweet potatoes is converted into vitamin A in the body and used to promote healthy prostate cell growth. And this delicious recipe is packed with both.

Sweet Potato With Pomegranate, Coconut, and Lime

Ingredients

4 sweet potatoes

½ cup light coconut milk

coconut flakes

2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

1 cup pomegranate seeds

¼ toasted unsweetened

Kosher salt

Lime wedges

Baked sweet potato with pomegranate

1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Arrange sweet potatoes, pricked with a fork, on a rimmed baking sheet, and roast until tender, about 45 minutes. Let cool slightly.

3. Slice tops and mash sweet potatoes with a fork.

4. Divide coconut milk, coconut flakes, cilantro, and pomegranate seeds among sweet potatoes.

5. Season with salt. Garnish with additional sprigs of cilantro and serve with lime wedges.

6. You can also get the cleansing properties of sulfur-containing compounds in broccoli to support prostate cell function with this cream of broccoli soup recipe.

Something Satisfying

With this simple frittata recipe and the recipe below, you can make a satisfying lunch or dinner full of prostate-healthy nutrients. Salmon and other fatty fish are full of omega-3 fatty acids, which help reduce occasional oxidative stress to prostate cells. By adding the tomato couscous, you get plenty of lycopene, a plant carotenoid that supports urinary tract health and healthy prostate cell size and hormone levels.
