5 minute read
Many common ingredients that we rely on daily make the best remedies needed to combat various diseases in our bodies. Unfortunately, very few people benefit from them as remedies because they either do not know about their benefits or do not know any real methods to add them into their diets.
Turmeric is a spice that is commonly used in India in the preparation of various recipes. It is orange in color, and, besides being used as a spice, it is a natural remedy common in both Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine.
Typically, turmeric has been used to treat conditions such as joint pains, respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments, wounds, skin problems, sprained muscles, and liver diseases. The therapeutic component in turmeric is known as "curcumin."
The Many Benefits of Curcumin
Research has shown turmeric extract (curcumin) to contain up to 150 or more therapeutic properties. Turmeric is said to greatly improve joint health as an anti-inflammatory.
Among the many therapeutic benefits, curcumin is frequently used as an antibiotic, supportive ingredient, and most importantly, an anti-cancer agent.
Researchers have completed numerous studies on turmeric curcumin, with the aim of discovering its mechanism of action and measurable results. They found that it:
♦ Regulates over 700+ genes
♦ Reorders the cells membranes
♦ Helps facilitate over 160+ distinct physiological actions
♦ Improves the signaling molecules and boosts joint health
Research shows that curcumin supplements are capable of penetrating the blood-brain barrier and is therefore capable of fighting Alzheimer’s disease, autoimmune disorders, and many unwanted neurological diseases.
It can also improve the health of an inflamed brain due to the aforementioned anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
In addition, it prevents the buildup of beta-amyloid proteins and cleans accumulated plague in the brain which can become causative factors in Alzheimer’s disease.
The Golden Honey Mixture
The mixture of turmeric, black pepper, and raw honey is a very strong antibiotic, capable of fighting both bacterial and viral infections.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
7 tablespoons raw, organic honey
1 pinch black pepper
(optional) 2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar
(optional) 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Simply mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl, then transfer the mixture to an air-tight container for storage. It can then be refrigerated and stored for up to 2 weeks.
The remedy has gone bad if it develops a metallic taste.
Serving sizes vary depending on the condition being treated. For example, when using it to treat a common cold or flu, it is recommended that one takes half a teaspoon every hour on the first day.
Then, take a half teaspoon every two hours on the second day and a half teaspoon three times daily on the third day.
To treat allergies or boost the immune system, one should consume a tablespoon of it daily. Some conditions are best treated with half a teaspoon three times daily.
The mixture should be held in the mouth until it’s completely dissolved instead of swallowing like other syrups. It can also be consumed by adding it to smoothies or in toast toppings during breakfast.
When used to prepare a cup of tea or warm tonic, it is still therapeutic. And better still, it can be added to a cup of hot water and consumed during the day.
This remedy is better taken before meals for those individuals that suffer from throat and lung issues, with meals to treat indigestion, and after meals for patients with kidney or colon complications.
Similar to other natural remedies, the Golden Honey Mixture does not have adverse effects on those using it, and turmeric can even be taken in supplement form. However, it is not supposed to be used to treat gallbladder problems, as it causes the contraction of the gallbladder muscles.

It is also not recommended for patients with either low blood sugar levels or low blood pressure because it has been proven to lower both. Therefore, if used in patients with these particular issues, it could lead to more serious problems.
The Bottom Line
The black pepper improves the absorption of the remedy, thus making it highly bioavailable to its target organs. Honey contains a protein known as defensin-1, which is produced by the bees. The protein is important in fighting against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.
So, when the three ingredients are combined, they form a highly potent and fast-acting antibiotic, which leads to healing. It's a delicious mixture to try, too!
